A Spring Encounter

Hey everyone! So this is my third blog post now. This time I've attempted to write a haiku poem; one that follows a 5-7-5 syllable structure. Hope you enjoy!
A spring encounter
Surprised to be stopped by you
Tried to catch my breath
Retraced all those steps
Searched the boards for your kind face
Luckily found you
Talked lots from afar
Wholesome comments from keyboards
Then we met anew
Felt the nerves in me
Shy and scared I may have been
But I wanted more
Talks and talks and walks
Ancient maps and swan stories
Had a lot of fun
Laughed and smiled and kissed
We held hands and watched them dance
Not done that before
Pleasant memories
Sitting round the glass table
Just you and me know
Defences did fail
Attraction grew more and more
Guard I had collapsed
Broke your news to me
Leaving soon for the city
Tried to hold the tears
Stupid and silly
Only known you a few weeks
Trusted too quickly
It was short and sweet
I let go so you can soar
You will do so well
Think lots about you
Telling myself I must not
But I often do
Miss your hair and hugs
But gained a new thinking spot
And more confidence
I smile once again
Every moment has reason
Life always goes on
Lots of dreams and plans
Time moves fast so make a start
Nose to the grindstone
People come and go
Independent I must be
Rely on no one
This is not goodbye
We will meet again as friends
Until then take care
